Hippa Island waters are full of life, the Coho are sticking around and Chinook fishing continues to be strong.
Great news here at Hippa. Mike Pratt, a long-time guest with Westcoast Resorts, wanted me to let you all know that the size average has gone up and he was into solid action on Chinook in the 20+ pound class this morning! Lighthouse and Next Rock are steadily producing nice fish and Mike informed me that most boats had bent rods all morning long. There are a few larger ones in the mix with 2 tyees coming in as well.
Another week of great times and awesome fishing at Hippa Island lodge! Our fishery is living up to its expectations with steady action on all tides. Weather has been co-operating with us the past few days and boats are able to travel and explore all of our usual hot spots.

The Northwest winds in Haida Gwaii are bringing us sunshine and breezy afternoons. Most boats have been fishing at Skwakadanee Point or in The Bahamas. This has allowed them to not only avoid the winds, but also to enjoy some fantastic salmon fishing action. “Skwak”, as we call it, has produced the majority of our salmon lately and anglers are seeing the size average climb up quite a bit as well.
