Tyee salmon have been rolling into the dock all week and Calm Rock has been the place to be! Most anglers are finding chinook salmon in the low to mid-twenties to the north at Calm Rock on the flood.
Calm Rock has been a steady producer of larger fish over the last few days. A pair of Tyees came in last night along with a 28lb and several in the mid-twenties.
This week Hippa has given us some of the most beautiful days of the year so far! Calm seas and light northwest winds have prevailed over the last few days. We are looking at a rising northwest system coming soon but blue skies and warm sunshine are still in the forecast.
The last few trips at Hippa Island lodge have proven to be varied in weather and activity. We did encounter our 2 largest fish of the season both weighing in at 47 lbs. Great to see and hopefully a sign of things to come!
With some dramatic weather looming on our doorstep, last trip proved to be a wonderful experience. The forecast strong southerly winds did not really materialize and great fishing was had by all.
