Legends Hooked on Charity July 04 - 08, 2010

The 7th Annual Legends of the Game Fishing Classic at Whale Channel took place from July 5 - 9, 2009 and was once again an outstanding success.

Forty-six guests were joined by host Geoff Godden of G & A Corporate Events and of course, NHL Legends Denis Potvin and Bob Baun. Great fishing for chinook, coho and halibut during the day was topped off each evening with dockside events like the “Hockey Shoot-out” and the ever-popular “Chip for a Trip”!

Five-star dinners were followed by “Hockey Talk” where the host players answered questions about “old-time hockey” and told stories from their illustrious careers. Each evening, a selection of signed memorabilia was auctioned off in support of the “Shoot for a Cure” campaign which funds spinal cord research and the “Hockey Hall of Fame”.

The proceeds from these auctions have raised over $175,000 to date for these worthwhile charities. Great fishing, great stories, and great camaraderie, all for a great cause!!! What more can a fisherman ask for?

Thanks to all for their support. We are looking forward to another exciting event again next year at Whale Channel!

Bob Baun Fishing Classic August 22 - 26, 2010
